Freelance writing is where I started.
IT WAS NOT A FUN EXPERIENCE
For fourteen years, I tried to be the best darned writer I could. I found designers, graphic artists, digital media specialists, and even with a team behind me, I struggled to make a decent living. When I later returned to school in 2015, I had spent eight years in the business world, and boy was I tired of it. In fact, I still am! But that is beside the point. The point is, freelance writing is a dangerous game. There are 57 million freelancers in the world, most held in Nigeria and India, and they are all dangerous writers. What do I mean about dangerous writers?
Well, keep reading.
I have seen it time and time again: I pitch a price to a client; they accept; they suddenly back out; then they return two months later after no luck finding a decent writer. Mind you, being a kind and conventional person, I naturally felt the need to assist for an extra fee for time lost. This is the danger of freelancing, and I made the above point to prove another: most freelancers do not know what they are doing. I will let you in on my secret, aside from my website and social media presence: I use Craigslist majority of the time to find work.. When I find a client, fifty percent of the time they settle for a lower price. That lower price brings them back to me two months later.
WHAT’S THE POINT?
When you hire a freelancer, you are hiring someone who technically never succeeded in the actual business of written content. That is kind of what separates us from the rest: we are the agency, not the freelancer. This is a full-time job for us, and we take great pride in that. But when you hire a freelancer on Craigslist, Fivver.com or Guru.com (or any other freelance website), you are poising a dangerous clause: they may be falsified writers. Many people think writing is just that: writing. It is much more than that. It is an art form, a business, and requires a grandiose desire to succeed. Without that desire, you are treading dangerous waters.
WHY YOU SHOULD BE WARY
I have worked with perhaps thousands of freelancers in my fifteen years in business. One lesson I have learned is to be wary of causation. Again, I have seen it many, many times over: someone hires me, then hires a freelancer who can do it for less money, and then two months later, the return to me, only to find that I am booked solid with work! This is obviously when the price of the project goes up, because by that time, myself and my team have already found another project that is paying a lot more for a lot less work! So, be wary of falsified freelancers. But how do you ween them out? What makes a bad freelancer? Let us discuss that now.
THE DANGERS OF FREELANCING
There are many dangers in freelancing. Again, 57 million freelancers exist. Many of them will claim to be writers or content designers. When you hire a freelancer, you are hiring someone who does not have a website; you are hiring someone who does not have any marketing skills (except for any ancillary material they may have found on Google); you are hiring a stranger without a website, a social media presence, and probably someone who actually does not know how to write. This is a very dangerous situation. You do not want to waste your time.
WHAT YOU DESERVE FROM US
Your project deserves to be performed and produced with great poise, merit, and skill. This means that you need a great writer, a great design team, and a great Creative Consultant. When you hire us, you are hiring a team of dedicated professionals. Now, who are these dedicated professionals? Simple: they are our team of hard workers. But that does not mean we do everything, now does it? The only way to truly find out is to contact us for a quote.
TO CONCLUDE THE CONCLUSION
In the end, freelance writing is a dangerous game, so choose wisely. When you come to us, you are inevitably hiring a design and content development team, rather than just one individual. With us, you do not get the raunchy experience of having to find both a writer, an artist, and a designer. You get all of those with a single team. We hire designers, writers, and content developers to make sure your experience goes as planned. Let us write your next project!
